A Snapshot of Life | West Coast Dawn East Coast Morning
As we navigate early morning. It’s fascinating to observe the juxtaposition of the coasts. An early morning phrase, “That is just too bad,” resonates with no truth reflecting a lack of frustration over someone else’s struggle—be it with the state of the economy, political turmoil, or even the daily grind. Hearing the tone is a reminder that while we strive for a good morning, setbacks are built into every morning journey.
Early morning humour often serves as a coping mechanism. “That is so funny,” allows us to be part of the conversation of absurdities that life finds in our day. A powerful antidote to “That is just too bad,” is a laugh which allows us let go of a negative shared experience. Less than ideal, early morning conversations are a testament to our resilience, our spirit and our ability to live in chaos.
As we look ahead to July 26, 2025 from the west coast, we count five more days of working at a temporary desk. Travel plans east are planned and domestic, they are a chance to be in the mundane and live with budgeted possibilities. The reality of summer travel east is like the predictability of Los Angeles weather – The ground stays dry and the sky is clear for flying.
As of now, weather reports indicate a mix of sun and clouds, with a chance of scattered dust. The opposite side of the mirror is an east coast mugginess. Waiting for morning to settle, our west coast coffee finds us at the crossroads of planning. Thinking East Coast, thinking West Coast, thinking somewhere in between. Whether laughing at the absurdities of this morning or grappling with relocation challenges, this mornings commentaries are a part of an east coast/west coast narrative. No early morning conversations are packing for the journey or making the reservations. The quietness of life’s domestic struggles and the usual budget await us heading east.
